I thought it was funny too. Unfortunately I learned it was very offensive and hurtful to a good friend. I know there are many suffering people who must take these meds to survive day to day and would never abuse or misuse them. But I’m unevolved enough to laugh! More work to do along the dharma road.

Yes, many people need opioid meds to be able to function day to day, including our wonderful mutual friend. I don’t think this negates the fact that there is a dangerous epidemic of opioid use, often promoted by physicians, or that Western Medicine tends to rely on pharmaceuticals whose side effects often get treated with yet more pharmaceuticals.
